How do I convert my trial version to a full product?
It is imperative that you remove any trial version of FileMaker Pro 10 , or FileMaker Pro 11 when installing the shipping version or converting your trial version by purchasing the license key.
Please do not attempt to install the shipping version of FileMaker Pro 10, or FileMaker Pro 11 over the trial version. To convert your trial version you will need to uninstall the trial version and reinstall the application using the same installer (or the CD or ESD you received with your purchase).
If you would like to use the FileMaker Pro trial version installer to install the full version you will need to edit the Assisted Install.txt file by entering in your new License key and user information. You can also delete this file and enter your new License key and user information on the appropriate screen during the installation.
To remove the trial version of FileMaker Pro:
In Windows:
Use the "Add/Remove Programs" Control Panel to remove the trial version.
In the Mac OS:
Drag the FileMaker Pro 10, or Pro 11 folder and all of its contents to the trash.
Drag the FileMaker Pro 10 preferences files to the trash (This file does not exist in FileMaker Pro 11). The preferences file can be found at the following location:
<home>\Library\Preferences\FileMaker Preferences\FileMaker Pro 10.0 Prefs

Apple Online Stores (worldwide) offer pre-installation of FileMaker Pro 10, or Pro 11 while purchasing hardware. As the hardware makes its way through the factory assembly line, the trial version of FileMaker Pro 10, or Pro 11 is installed.
With the hardware you will receive FileMaker Pro 10, or Pro 11 on a CD along with the License Key printed on the back of the CD sleeve.
At any time during your 30-day trial, you can convert your FileMaker Pro 10, or Pro 11 Trial Version to the single licensed version by following these easy steps:
- Click on the License Key button:
- Enter the License Key into the License Key field, click on the Activate button, and complete the activation process.
